Black professional women are often described as workplace superwomen… But this moniker masks the impacts of saving everyone before saving themselves. Dr. Brit’s work challenges these realities and invites workplace leaders to better support Black women professionals in improving their health and well-being.​

Black women professionals have reported being policed at work for their tone of voice, gender performance/ personal style choices, age, and misperceptions from others that they do not belong. Dr. Brit’s groundbreaking scholarship illuminates the impact and material costs of these experiences on Black women’s advancement.
